The Surgeon’s Knot is used for line to leader connections. The most typical application would be for tying the main line to the leader.
Lay both lines side by side with line ends facing in opposite directions.
Create a loop using both lines.
Run the main line end and the leader end back though this loop creating an overhand knot.
Double this overhand knot by running both lines back through this same loop.
Pull tight.
Clip tag ends of line off.
